What’s so great about mineral makeup?
That’s what I was asking about a few years ago, until I tried it! Like many of you, I was constantly seeing the infomercials and ads for mineral this and mineral that and I just wasn’t ready to buy into the hype. At the time, most of the major mass market brands weren’t conforming to the mineral craze, so I didn’t need to either. Plus, I had a bathroom full of makeup, so I wasn’t ready to throw out years worth of investing just to jump on the new bandwagon.
However, after doing the research (reading up on minerals AND trying out products…the fun part) I am now a convert. So why is it so much better? There are a number of reasons, but most importantly, mineral makeup contains a number of minerals and vitamins so that not only are you wearing color on your face, but it is actually helping improve your skin, overall texture and complexion. Makeup that is good for you…i’m in!
With most non-mineral makeup, the foundations do a great job covering imperfections, but that’s where the makeup stops. It is merely sitting on the skin as a mask instead of actually acting to treat the skin. Typically, mineral makeup is free of chemical dyes, perfumes and talc which means it’s good for sensitive skin, including those with acne or roscea. I’m really into products that can treat on a number of levels, and makeup that is good for you is one of the best things i’ve come across in awhile.
While there are a number of good mineral brands out there, we’ve recently brought gloMinerals into our Facelogic Spas and i’m obsessed with the pressed and loose powders. They have over 20 shades so you can find the perfect color match and they leave you with dewy-hydrated looking skin.
If you just can’t part with your favorite makeup line to try a mineral line, at least try some mineral powders or blushes. Remember you’ll be doing something good for your skin AND looking great. Come play with our gloMineral makeup collection at Facelogic Spas nationwide!
