Sunscreen…it’s no longer ‘uncool’

Gone are the days when baking in the sun all day is ‘cool’. Most smart women (and men) today wouldn’t be caught dead within 20 feet of tanning oil, let alone laying out without at least an SPF of 15 smothered on every exposed inch of skin.

Over the years, we’ve all been educated about the dangers of the sun and skin cancer. So what can you do to protect yourself before you end up looking 15 years older than you are?? Here are some quick inside tips from Facelogic Spa on how to stay sun safe and still enjoy the summer:

Tip #1 – Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more every morning. Make it part of your routine prior to putting on your makeup. Then you will be protected whether you are in the sun or not.

Tip #2 – Cover up! Hats, umbrellas, whatever it you like! Take a queue from the likes of Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfreid, and embrace your natural (albeit whiter) skin color. The 90s are over and unnatural shades of brown are not ‘in’.

Tip #3 – Reapply throughout the day. Everything in moderation might be a good motto for most things in life, but for sunscreen, the motto should be everything in excess! Pile that stuff on…and do it multiple times per day to stay protected.

Resist the urge this summer and protect your skin. Ask any beauty over 35 her anti-aging secret, and if she doesn’t include the liberal application of sunscreen in her answer…perhaps she has had a few rounds with the doctor.

Stay sun safe my friends!
