Facelogic Vitamin C Serum

Facelogic Vitamin C Defense Serum

For those of you who use serums, you already know that they are magical little concoctions created to treat all of your nagging skin concerns. But for those of you who don’t, let me shed some light!

What is a serum? A serum is basically a concentrated concoction of ingredients aimed to treat a specific skin concern. The concentrated ingredients are formulated in order to penetrate the skin with more potency and treat the specific concern at a deeper level. For example, Vitamin C, in its most potent form, typically comes as a serum. Based on what results you desire, there are hundreds (more like thousands) of serums on the market aimed to treat a variety of concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dullness, redness, etc.

Why should you use serums? Serums will deliver better results when combined with your typical skincare routine because the highly-concentrated concoction is formulated to target a specific concern (i.e. fine lines) and deliver quicker results. While products like everyday moisturizers may contain some of a serum’s ingredients, they are not formulated in as high of a concentration.

If you’re looking to find a product that will treat one or two of your specific skin issues, look to a  serum. Your moisturizers are great for overall treatment and protection, however serums are better ‘equipped’ to tackle the specific issue head-on!

Do you have some specific concerns? Here’s some serums we recommend:

Skin Concern: fine lines and wrinkles

Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle – an amazing patent-pending peptide blend that is highly concentrated as a wrinkle-fighting solution with the highest degree of effective ingredients found in clinical studies.

Skin Concern: skin protection and repair

Facelogic Vitamin C Defense Serum – boosts the skin’s collagen and elastin production, repairs premature aging caused by environmental damage and brightens skin tone while minimizing areas of discoloration.

Skin Concern: hyperpigmentation

Eminence Organic Stone Crop – utilizes the natural concentrated stone crop juice and bearberry extract to lighten and minimize discoloration.

Skin Concern: redness

MD Skincare by Dr. Dennis Gross Redness Soothing Serum – contains multiple ingredients to control redness due to inflammation, rosacea and flushing.

If you’re ready to take your skincare routine to the next level, or just looking to treat a specific skin issue that has been bugging you, get started with a serum that treats your concern. The concentration of ingredients from the serum is sure to minimize your concern, if not alleviate it completely (depending on the severity, of course)!

Get a bronzed look without the long-term side effects

Protect your skin from the sun, or you could end up like this!

Protect your skin from the sun, or you could end up like this!

Just because the temps have started to drop doesn’t mean you have to lose that summer glow. If the porcelain look isn’t your thing, even though you are naturally fair-skinned, you can still have a beautiful bronze year-round without sacrificing your skin.  At Facelogic Spa, we love skin in all shades, but there is one shade we don’t encourage or enjoy seeing and that is sun-tanned/burnt skin.

We encourage routine skincare and services in order to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation and improve skin texture and tone. And when your skin is exposed to UVA and UVB rays, the resulting tan (or burn) is the body’s desperate attempt to protect itself from the sun’s harmful rays. UVA and UVB rays are the number one cause of fine lines and wrinkles, collagen breakdown, hyperpigmentation and in many cases, skin cancer. So all of your facials and skin maintenance prove futile when you bake in the sun all day or even lay in a tanning bed for a few minutes.

So how do you get that bronzed Giselle-look without the damaging long term effects? We’ve got some great products that you should try:

  • Celebrity favorite, Xen-Tan’s extensive array of sunless tanning products are a must-try product if you want a natural instant tan. Our favorite product is Xen-Tan’s Deep Bronze Luxe, it’s paraben-free, fast drying and will give you a gorgeous tan for about a week!
  • For a short-term bronze, try gloMineral’s gloBody Bronzer. It’s great for an overall bronzing glow or a night out on the town. Plus it’s not permanent, so if you only want one night of tan, it washes off with soap.

With all of the great sunless tanning products on the market including some of our favorites at Facelogic Spas, there is no reason to bake in the sun or the tanning bed anymore. We’re all trying to look younger and have great skin, so there is no reason to jeopardize your complexion by tanning!

Remember, SPF 15 or higher should be worn at all times (even when you’re just going to the grocery store), if you need a bit of natural daily Vitamin D, get your 10 minutes of sun exposure at non peak times before 9:30 am and after 4:00 pm…and embrace your natural complexion! Porcelain is beautiful! If you need a bit of bronze for an event or for your everyday look, try some of these products.
